August 3-7, 2026, 5 Half Days (15-Hour Course)
9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. EDT
In-Person, Live-Online
Debbie will be returning to teach EMDR Therapy and the Treatment of Complex PTSD in Adult Survivors of Childhood Abuse and Neglect, an immersive course offered both in-person and live-online. This 15-hour week-long CE course will begin by examining the impact of early neglect, abuse, and attachment disruption on the development, functioning, and identity of the individual. It will continue through various clinical “maps” to guide assessment, case conceptualization, and treatment planning. The range of dissociative presentations associated with complex and prolonged trauma will be reviewed and the kinds of phobias and ego state conflicts that require attention early in treatment will be highlighted. The remainder of the course will be spent addressing strategies for dealing with clients' defenses (fears and blocking beliefs, protective parts, associated avoidance) and exploring different types of interweaves, each with their own functions and goals. We'll also discuss how and when to integrate other treatment models (e.g. IFS, AEDP, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy) and newer EMDR protocols into your work (e.g. EMDR 2.0, Flash Technique, Blind2Therapist, Flash Forward).
*To be eligible for this course, you need to have completed at least part of an EMDR basic training program (e.g. Weekend 1/Part 1) and you must have some previous clinical experience with EMDR therapy. Beyond these requirements, the course is considered appropriate for EMDR-trained therapists at any level of experience - from senior EMDR consultants to those more recently trained.
